I can’t believe how quickly our Colony Club year is flying by. We only have April and May meetings left for this year. With that in mind, I want to reinforce what we look forward to enjoy—besides our scheduled meetings…. Seashore Chic Fashion Show—April 23rd at Howard S. Stainton OC Senior Center (see page 3 of the Newsletter) and Achievement Day, April 27th at the Greate Bay Country Club. If you haven’t reserved your place, make sure you do so quickly so you don’t miss out on these exciting happenings!!!!! Let your friends know, too, and ask them to join us in our activities.
As in the past, The Women’s Club of Absecon and The Colony Club are Co-Hosting Achievement Day. We have a lot of responsibilities with this event. Of course, there will be the judging of all the entries from talented members of the Southern District. Hopefully we will have lots of winners from our Club. We will also hear from keynote speakers including Jill Passaretti, NJSFWC President. No meeting is complete without something to nosh on so we will enjoy a delicious Greate Bay lunch. The entire event is only $33. If you haven’t already, let me know asap if you intend to go.
We have received and accepted an application for a Delegate to this year’s Girls Career Institute. The recommendation from her school counselor was so beautiful. We wish her lots of luck. Orientation for the Southern District GCI is May 25th at 6:30 PM.
Our sister club, The Country Shore Women’s Club in Upper Twp. is holding a Designer Hand Bag Bingo on April 22nd. See the flyer sent previously for further details.
There is still a vacancy for the Southern District VP. If you would like more information for this position, please contact me or our current VP, Laura Badger.
Please make every attempt to attend the April 18th General meeting. Following an interesting presentation from the local business Glazed Over, there will be two very important votes. The first is approval of the By-Law changes that have been emailed to you and/or mailed with last month’s Newsletter to those without email. Call Phyllis Bonner (609) 525-0258 with By-Law questions prior to our meeting. Voting will also take place for the 2016 -2017 Slate of Officers presented in last month’s newsletter and on page 6 of this month’s. Please come and exercise your voting duty.
Installation of the New Officers is going to be held during our last General Meeting on May 16th. A beautiful ceremony is planned. We’ll have a packed agenda including guest speaker Philly Bill Culp from WIBG radio. Save room after your dinner at home for the ice cream social.
REMEMBER – SOCIAL PORTION 7:00 – 7:15 pm. MEETINGS START AT 7:45 PM AND WE MUST BE DONE BY 8:45 pm.
